Derek Sammann
He is responsible for leading the development, execution, and management of Chase's global commodities portfolio, including the Energy, Metals, and Agricultural Products business lines. He also leads Chase's global cross-asset class options business and its growth strategy in international markets. Prior to his current role, Sammann served as senior managing director and global head of commodities and options products since 2014. Since joining the firm in September 2006, Sammann has also served as Senior Managing Director of Interest Rates and Foreign Exchange Products and Managing Director and Global Head of Foreign Exchange. Prior to joining the firm, Sammann gained more than 16 years of sell-side trading experience in the global foreign exchange market, including as Managing Director and Global Head of FX Options and Structured Products at Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in London. He has also held senior positions at Crédit Agricole Indosuez in London, Banque Indosuez in Paris and Cooper, Neff & Associates in Chicago.Sammann also serves on the boards of directors of the following entities: Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), Sammann also serves on the boards of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), the New York Mercantile Exchange (COMEX) Board of Governors, and the Commodities Markets Council, where he also serves as Treasurer, as well as on the International Advisory Board of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Agricultural and Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committees, and the Securities and Exchange Commission's (STA) Advisory Committee on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. (Sammann is also a member of the Shanghai Gold Exchange's International Advisory Board, the CFTC's Agricultural and Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee, and the STA's Listed Options Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.
